Yesterday

Sorry for my poor updates these last couple of days!
Yesterday, I went to a party and, well, got as drunk as I've never been in my life before. The party was awesome though! Problem is just that I just remember smithereens from what happened after like one o'clock, so yeah... I was really drunk.

Today, my friend Selin had her birthday dinner, which was very nice. I'm glad it's spring break now, so I can finally relax. I can't wait to go to Florence next week, it's going to be so awesome!
It's Sunday tomorrow, so I think I'm just going chill at home, play piano, watch TV, that kind of stuff...

The Nightmare Is Over!

Finally! The worst school day ever is over, and guess what I'm gonna do? I'm going to take a shower, and then I'll go to bed. I had a nuit blanche as the French would say, a sleepless night, so I have been awake for... 37 hours.
After school Nathanja and I went to the mall. I bought a new pair of shoes by the way! Then we just sat down on one of the benches, each one of us with a croissant in our hand and talked about anything and everything.
Tomorrow's the last day of school before the holidays start! Awesome.

Nightpost

It's like 2.49 a.m.. and I'm still awake. I studied before quite a lot, but since I still don't feel like I get everything I'd feel guilty to just go to bed now. So I'm staying up and revising and yeah... still feel like I'm going to do awful tomorrow though.
I'm such a fail at Bio it's not even funny! It's embarrassing how much I suck at it... and my teacher is really one of a kind, I don't get his explanations nor do his scientific expressions help me to understand anything that's going on during class.
Oh gosh, it's already so late, I don't think it's worth it to go to bed, because I'm only going to be even more tired if I'll have to drag myself out of bed in three hours... might as well stay awake, and take an early morning walk with my dog!

(Trip to Florence in grade 8, 2009, International School)
I thought I should share my favorite picture ever. To the left we have Johanna, she's a really good friend of mine... unfortunately, I hardly see her anymore since I've switched schools. I miss her a lot though.

Study Study

I'm pretty stressed out about the Biology and History tests which I have tomorrow, so this is just going to be a really quick update. I had my piano lesson today which actually went really well, then afterwards I stayed in school for an hour to study (I figured I'd be able to concentrate better in the class room where there are no distractions). Got home, tidied my writing desk so I'd be able to spread all the books and notes better, made a cup of green tea and will now study for a couple of hours. I'm glad when tomorrow is over.

Preparing for Summer and Bosnian Chocolate

After school my friend Nathanja and I went to bring the homework to Suri who's sick today so she wouldn't get behind in school. When we were at her house, I had like the most delicious Bosnian chocolate ever. I'm not that big of a fan of chocolate, but holy crap, that chocolate was just delicious. So we were at her house for an hour and then Nathanja and I continued to the food and shopping mall where I bought a cookie dough ice cream and we were just relaxing on the sofas in a little café on the deck.
Oh, and I also bought tanning oil! I was thinking of taking the first swim in the lake pretty early this year, maybe next week...

By the way, this girl...

...and this girl are twins!

Ready for summer? Hell yeah!

Back in Switzerland!

Last four days of school until Spring break are starting in school tomorrow, and I'm really demotivated because of all the tests that our teachers desperately squeezed in before the holidays. Anyways, today was just a pretty boring day, I was just sitting in the car... still got to unpack my suitcase. I think there's actually nothing more boring and depressing in the world! Unpacking a suitcase? Seriously? Well, I'm glad I'll be able to pack it next week again though, because then I'm going to Florence for a week! I am so excited!

Happy Easter!

I just had breakfast and will now indulge in some white Lindt chocolate! My parents are going on a hike now and I'll have to stay in and study... which I'm not too excited about, but I have so many tests going on next week before Spring break and am therefore pretty stressed about it.

I Used To Be Blonde...

Believe me, I've had many disasters and escapades with my hair color experiments. I've dyed my hair banana blonde, light blonde, I've dyed it dark brown, ginger-ish brown, gold brown... I've tried a lot of things with my hair... which now, looking back, weren't always to my advantage for my looks.

My natural hair color

Summer 08 - Banana blonde

2009 - Back to brown

2010 - Second time blonde, dyed it myself

February 2011 - Yes I almost died when I saw how dark it had gotten and panicked every time I looked into the mirror, but the dark color has faded away quite well so I'm satisfied at the moment with the brown color that I've got now... still trying to get back to my natural hair color though.

Anyway, making a long story short: in the end I realized that my natural hair color is the best. Looking back, I don't understand why I had to change it, it's not like it looked ugly... I guess I just wanted to try something different. To be something different. I think in general that people look the best in their natural hair color. Why change what nature has given you? There's a reason why you've got the hair color that you've got; it's the one that suits the best to your skin tone, your eye color, and it's just you.

Quick Update: Dinner!

I'm now going to go with my parents and eat dinner in the hotel restaurant!

Apfelstrudel + Nice People + Beautiful Landscape = Austria

Sorry I haven't been able to update yesterday, I had to ask at the reception today for a DSL cable to connect my mac to the internet. It's so nice to be in Austria again, and I forgot how delicious their food is here. Especially the food at the hotel, jeez I'm dying! Huge breakfast buffets, cakes and pastries are served in the afternoon and the absolute highlight is dinner in the evening.
Today I've just been studying, reading and watching TV on the hotel room while my parents and brothers went skiing. I couldn't go because of my foot; I injured it couple of months ago, broke some bones and so on, so it's still healing... but next month it should be fine again.
Oh and they even have one Swedish TV channel on the room! I'm so excited, haha, makes me feel so nostalgic thinking back at the times when I used to live in Sweden.

As previously mentioned in my last post, Dinah also came with us. My mom and I realized though that it was a mistake to bring her, because she just get's so whiny and she's extremely clingy, so if she's alone for just 3 minutes she like panics. Still love her though!

Austria Tomorrow!

My family and I are going to Austria tomorrow over Easter. It's only a one hours drive so that's quite nice. I haven't been to Austria in a while, which is a pity since it's so close to Switzerland and people there talk in such a funny accent. And Austrians have their delicious Apfelstrudel's, it's like the best dessert on earth! Ok so it's getting kind of late and I still have to finish packing. Oh and by the way, our dog is also coming with us! Haha I'm so excited about that... Dinaaah...

Ben&Jerry's and Summer

Jeez, it's like 20 degrees Celsius, it's so warm! During lunch my best friend Alessia and I went to eat ice cream, so we chose Ben&Jerry's.
I dont' have school this afternoon, so I had my piano lesson, took the bus home afterwards and will soon continue reading a really good book which I'm at right now.
Oh and I think I'm gonna go downstairs now and mix a banana smoothie, yum.

Cupcakes and a Free Afternoon!

Haha my friends are such losers. They did a general-knowlegde-quiz voluntarily so they could get a cupcake for free! Just kidding, they aren't losers... or, well, most of the time they aren't! Nah, I like them a lot and appreciate their special character traits. We got a free afternoon today because the teachers have some further education courses or something like that, so we were able to go home! It's so warm outside, I've already got that summery feeling. Can't wait until it's warm enough to go swimming in the lake!

New Polo Shirt!

My parents just came home from their weekend trip and my mom had bought a polo shirt for me! Yay I'm so excited. I now know what I will be wearing to school tomorrow!

Today's been such a relaxing day and I've been able to tank my energy reserves again. I took a long walk with my dog, sat in the garden and practiced some French vocabulary for the upcoming test on Tuesday, played a lot of piano and cooked pasta for dinner. Magnifique!

Inspiration: Alberta Ferretti

I just read about her in an interview in InStyle magazine. She's a fashion designer, and many celebs wear her robes in Hollywood.

One thing she said in the interview that stuck out especially to me was when she was asked what bad taste means to her. Her answer:
To adapt oneself to fashion and meanwhile forgetting your own style. To wear something, just because it's en vogue. I think the individual style is what's essential and vital.
She's so right. I agree with her to 100%...
I think it's incredible how she opened her first clothes shop at the age of 18 and had her first own collecion at the age of 24. This lady must have had a lot of self-confidence and will power... she really took a risk, and succeeded.

Another thing that I also liked was when she got asked why women feel so glamorous and elegant in her clothes and she answered:
I think it's because I respect women so much. A gown should accompany a woman, and not dominate her.

Sunny Sunday

I am now going to sit in the garden and do my homework there, because it's such nice weather and I love sitting outside. I have no plans for today really, I might practice some Beethoven on the piano and call my best friend but that's it really. I love days like these!

Good Morning!

I woke up just about an hour ago, took a shower, and am soon going to take a walk with my dog.
Yesterday, my best friend and I went to a restaurant in a very cute little town. After that, she came to my house and got picked up by her parents around midnight. I actually thought it was going to be scary to be alone in my house during the night (damn I shouldn't have watched so many horror movies last year), since the house I live in has got gigantic windows and it's a very big. Surprisingly, it wasn't problem though, which I'm relieved about... but my dog keeps me company so I'm not too lonely. This weekend I have to tidy up my room, it's such a mess! I think I'm already going to start with it today.

Meeting up with my friend!

It's Friday evening and I'm going to meet up with my best friend now! I'm taking my camera with me, so new pictures will be posted tomorrow!

Finding Your Own Style

Throughout my rather experimental teenage years, considering finding my own personal style, I took a pretty long trip with its up's and down's. I'm glad though that I could make all those experiences and now I feel like I've finally found a style that suits me.
I do not regret experimenting with clothes, because how else could I have learned and realized what suits me best? If I hadn't applied too much mascara at times or hadn't been wearing clothes that absolutely didn't go with each other or just looked awful, how else would I have been able to figure out what actually does suit me? Undoubtedly, I've made plenty of mistakes in fashion and style that were definitely not to my advantage in my appearance.
I think everyone needs to try things and be brave in their teenage years to find out who and what they want to be. Otherwise you will never truly find your own unique style, as well as inside and out.
And after all, isn't that what we're all trying be? Unique,  leaving an impression and being an influence on other people.

Our Earliest Memories

Our History teacher was sick today, so while we were supposed to do some assignments she had given us, my friends and I got off topic (as always). We were speculating at what age we were consciously living, so what our very first memory was that we still can remember today.

My first one was when I was with my relatives up in the "fjällen" in Sweden, and there was this clothes basket which I sat into and expected my grandpa to swing me in it. Then my cousin came along who's one year younger than me, and saw that I was having lots of fun, so she also wanted to swing! So we did it this way that first, we would swing together in the basket, but then she'd have to step out so I could get swung alone, and then she could step in again. Poor girl didn't understand that it was unfair that I didn't allow her to swing alone!

I've been looking and looking, but unfortunately I cannot find this one photo album where there's this one particular picture of my cousin and me in the clothes basket, but I found some other funny pictures from when I was a kid.

Me and my cousin!

Haha happy child!

Haha! Me in the garden of my grandparents in the North of Sweden

What a lovely haircut! Haha!
This was on my birthday when I was turning... three, I think. I got that doll as a present from my grandmother, but I was so scared of her at the time because of her skin color! I had only had white dolls before so I was really confused to suddenly have a black one.
Time goes by so quickly... next month I'm already turning 17, it's insane!
